On Friday (April 7), the day before International Roma Day, students, teachers and parents from "Otets Paisii" Secondary School, Medkovets village, organized a concert in connection with the holiday. During it, they presented various skits, dances, games and quizzes.
Gender equality and antidiscrimination of Roma will be a topic on which we will work together with young people and educators from "Otets Paisiy" secondary school in the village of Medkovets in the next two years.
The lockdown has also had an impact on the educational process.
This became clear from a field study carried out within the ReCAP (Recovering Inclusion Through Creativity After Pandemic) project.
In the next 2 years, the partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Italy and Belgium will work with young people from the Roma community and their trainers in order to increase the competences in the field of gender equality.
The results of a study conducted by the National Center for Public Health and analyzes on the topic "Impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the mental health of the citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria" show a clear increase in the sale of psychotropic medications, including tranquilizers and antidepressants, which have a calming effect, remove anxiety, fear, restlessness and other disorders in the emotional sphere, which indicates hidden illness and general increased anxiety.
ReCAP project partners have already developed TOOLBOX FOR YOUTH SOCIAL INCLUSION THROUGH ART AND CULTURE IN A POST-PANDEMIC CONTEXT, which will be of help to those working with young people at school, in youth centers, etc. You can download HERE in PDF.
The ReCAP project has officially started, and the Kick-off Meeting took place on 3&4 November 2022 in Porto (Portugal), where the hosting partner Rightchallenge welcomed the whole consortium in their headquarters.
