CSCD team starts with a new topic in our project portfolio – the image of the migrant into the online space

In the beginning of 2019 CSCD started the new “NEMO project – the usage of “new” media for training and tackling online discrimination against migrants". Over the next two years our experts in partnership with four other countries (Italy, Hungary, Austria and France), will focus on an image survey of representatives of the following target groups: migrants, aliens, asylum seekers, third-country nationals and ethnic minorities in online space as well as online discrimination and hate speech.

Dozens of young teachers and happy children welcomed the CSCD team in Breznik

On June 8, the NEMO project trainer Diana Georgieva made her last meeting with the sixth-graders from Vasil Levski secondary school – Breznik, and the teachers received a donation for the school and got acquainted with the NEMO toolkit.

Not only the remarkable results achieved within the project were presented at the event, but the participants also discussed the creation of a new model for the inclusion of migrants, as well as the exclusive role of the media in this process.

National report on Bulgaria dedicated to hate speech on the Internet among young people

In connection with the work on the NEMO project - Using the "new" media for training and tackling online discrimination against migrants, our team produced a national report on Internet misinformation, migrant issues in Bulgaria and how to deal with prejudices and stereotypes.

PRESENTATION OF THE NEMO PROJECT DURING A CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE INSTITUTE OF PSYCHOLOGY OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

On March 22, the expert Diana Georgieva presented the NEMO project during a conference on the project "Expansion of the Expert Capacity of the Ministry of Interior for Prevention of Aggressive Events in Society, Corruption and Radicalization", with the financial support of the Operational Program "Good governance" co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund ".

Teachers and students received donations and certificates for successful activities in Ruse

Eighth-graders from the Mathematical High School "Baba Tonka" - Ruse were extremely well prepared on the topics of Internet safety, fake news and discrimination during NEMO laboratories. Their trainer, Diana Georgieva from the CSCD, was extremely impressed by the discussions that took place the recent months.

The regional youth center in Breznik is becoming an attractive place for various initiatives

The Regional Youth Center (RYC) in Breznik hosted training for 6th grade students from the local school under the NEMO project of the Center for Sustainable Communities Development.

Why the NEMO toolkit excites teenagers in Montana so much

Last Friday, the CSCD trainers - Diana Georgieva and Nancy Borisova presented the NEMO manual to sixth graders and teachers fromMaths and Science High School in Montana within the first information day of the NEMO project.
