The company's management team participated in one of the business trainings organized by the Center for Sustainable Communities Development the purpose of which was to increase the interest and commitment of the management team on the topic of victims of domestic violence and the labor market.

The "SOS - Families at Risk" Foundation, Varna, was an active participant in the meeting. Its manager, Anna Nikolova, spoke about the organization's long journey in working with women who have experienced this type of violence and the efforts to stabilize them afterwards and encourage them to start their new independent life.

Being independent means having an alternative!

This was one of the most important messages highlighted by Diana Georgieva, an expert at the Center for Sustainable Communities Development. She shared with the participants what has been done so far under the WEGO3 project and the efforts to identify problems and specific needs of women.

Emphasis was placed on the good practice of the city of Ruse, namely the creation of a Territorial Protocol to support the economic empowerment of women who have suffered domestic violence. Thanks to the joint initiative of NGOs, businesses and institutions, women in the region receive better services and opportunities to look for work and start a new life. Moreover, they themselves are already sufficiently empowered and some of them are ready to start entrepreneurial initiatives.

The managers of Avon Bulgaria showed interest in the activities of the project and expressed readiness for cooperation at the national level, as the company has extensive experience in supporting women and has a long history of corporate social responsibility.
