The best businesses will receive a badge that they can use as a guarantor that their company is actively working to prevent and combat this phenomenon.
The event was attended by more than 20 journalists, representatives of national media, daily newspapers, women's websites and business media. Apart from them, activists, psychologists and representatives of NGOs also took part. The director of the CSCD - Stanimira Hadjimitova explained to everyone what the problem is and why it is so important to raise awareness about the topic in Bulgaria. Proof of this were the results of the national survey of employers and employees conducted within the TEAMWORK project. What do the numbers mean, explained Violeta Ivanova from the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research at CITUB.
It shows that although most managers and bosses believe that they have good mechanisms to protect victims, many employees do not feel protected or can’t properly assess when and whether they have been victims of sexual harassment in the workplace.
At the end of the meeting, CSCD expert Diana Georgieva introduced the participants to the platform developed within the project and reiterated their important role in disseminating useful information, because the more people share their experiences, the more likely they are to help others to avoid such kind of experiences.
