On March 19 and 26, the team of the Center for Sustainable Communities Development held information days within the Children First project.
During the meetings, both the project and the manuals and videos that were made were presented. Emphasis was also placed on the legal framework regarding the evidence of domestic violence. CSCD experts projected elements from the film The Wisdom of Trauma and talked to teachers and young people about other adverse childhood experiences. It was extremely important to hear the opinion of young people on this sensitive issue and for this purpose a role play was used so that they could engage in the discussion as much as possible.
The practical approach was highly appreciated by the participants in both info days. A curious conclusion is that most of the teachers in Bulgarian schools are women and often they themselves can be victims of domestic violence, so the topic is particularly sensitive for them. The importance of the topic was repeatedly emphasized and so the idea arose to make the evidence of domestic violence part of the school curriculum during the teacher’s class , when youth issues of all kinds are discussed.
