They were part of a series of trainings on entrepreneurship organized by the Center for Sustainable Communities Development (CSCD), Sofia and Centre Dinamika Association, Ruse within the project "Children First: Improving Local Services for a More Effective and Child-Centered" Aproach to Witnessed Violence ") under the EU's Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program.
Under the expert mentorship of Diana Georgieva from the CSCD the young ladies were trained in business idea validation, financial planning, marketing research, good practices and failures. They also explored potential competition and funding opportunities.
Thus, in March this year, the 6 women in their early 30s were ready for their own business. Three of them focused on setting up a babysitting agency, which was found to be in dire need in the city. According to a protocol signed within the WEGO! Project, University of Ruse will develop and conduct training for babysitters together with the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) - Ruse Regional Office. Both trainings will end with a certificate.
Other promising ideas are for the development of cleaning services and lessons in mathematics and foreign languages. The courses are planning to be held in Center Dinamika Association.
Each of the ladies is currently a student or an employee, but their ambition for independence and the opportunity created by the Children First project have given them a boost in development, the fruits of which are yet to be reaped.
