The representatives of the Association signed a contract, with which they undertake to provide legal advice to the "Center Dinamika" Association regarding activities for the economic empowerment of women who have experienced violence.
Legal specialists will also participate in information campaigns and trainings organized by the Association based in the town of Ruse.
The partnership of the two organizations is a natural consequence of the numerous meetings within the framework of a number of initiatives of the Center for Sustainable Communities Development related to the rights of women, victims of violence and children who are witnesses of domestic violence.
Supporting women survivors of intimate partner violence through structured multidisciplinary efforts for their economic empowerment is a core drive that unites the efforts of both parties to the agreement. Among the specific goals are providing the opportunity for stable work, education, qualification and retraining, training in financial literacy, providing access to preferential financial services, providing access to kindergartens and schools, inclusion in extracurricular activities for children, access to housing with preferential rents, support for starting an own business, involvement in personal development activities, as well as others that would help women start their independent lives again.
The idea of creating a Territorial Protocol with the aim of economic empowerment of survivors of intimate partner violence was born within the WEGO2 project (Building Economic Independence: the Way Out of Intimate Partner Violence, Ref. REC-RDAP-GBV-AG-2017, Project ID 810371). Thus, in March 2021, 12 representatives of institutions, businesses and NGOs in the territory of the Ruse region joined forces to fight violence against women.
Stakeholders hold regular meetings and discuss various measures to create better economic conditions for survivors of domestic violence. The territorial protocol is periodically expanded and new players are joining it. Who they are and what their expertise is, keep an eye on the Center for Sustainable Communities website for more information!
