On May 14 in the Regional Youth RAISE Center the girls from the workshop presented their work to Lalka Ilieva and Maria Chocheva.

The jewelry, calendars, keychains, magnets and cards with elements of authentic Bulgarian embroidery impressed the two women from Sofia. They themselves are also engaged in similar crafts. Lalka makes unique embroidered products with beautiful elements from different regions of Bulgaria, and Maria paints and makes original cards in her own handwriting, which are suitable for all occasions.

The women's group had enough time to discuss different approaches and techniques of work, both the guests and the locals had a very fruitful discussion. The exchange of experience was extremely valuable - the girls took valuable advices on where to find interesting and innovative materials to work with.

The most interesting part of the meeting was the birth of the idea for the Youth Center in Breznik to host a joint initiative in the form of a plein air. It will be related to embroidery, knitting, painting and other interesting arts and crafts in the open air for skillful and not so skillful young people who have an interest.

The RAISE Youth project, implemented by the Center for Development of Sustainable Communities, covers over 500 young people aged between 18 and 29, living in the municipalities of Pernik, Breznik, Trun, Radomir, Zemen and Kovachevtsi, who are not currently involved. Within its framework, various trainings for career and personal development are passed, and the most active 20 participants will be provided with additional training and mentoring assistance to start their own business.

The RAISE Youth project is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
