The joint event between RAISE Graovo Embroidery Workshop, high school “V. Levski ”Breznik and 6th high school “ St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”in Pernik was held on June 6.
The participants from the workshop made a short demonstration. The interested students mastered the embroidery technique. The rest of the young people made cards, the materials for which were kindly provided by Mrs. Maria Chocheva and the Regional Youth RAISE Center - Breznik. The event was also attended by the director of the local high school in Breznik - Mrs. Lina Simeonova.
It was especially interesting for the young people to prepare materials with their own hands and to learn the craft. They were also very impressed by the experienced ladies from the workshop and their products with folklore motifs that combine the traditional with the modern.
The RAISE Youth project, implemented by the Center for Development of Sustainable Communities, covers over 500 young people aged between 18 and 29, living in the municipalities of Pernik, Breznik, Trun, Radomir, Zemen and Kovachevtsi, who are not currently involved. Within its framework, various trainings for career and personal development are passed, and the most active 20 participants will be provided with additional training and mentoring assistance to start their own business.
The RAISE Youth project is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
